The Use And Characteristics Of High Alumina Cement

(3) Projects with special needs such as rush construction, rush repair, anti-sulfate erosion and winter construction.
Characteristics of high alumina cement
1. Early strength characteristics: Its early strength increase rate is far higher than that of rapid hardening portland cement. It is suitable for emergency repair projects, but its strength will decrease later, so it is restricted in structural engineering.
2. The heat of hydration is large: the early cement hardening releases a lot of heat. Compared with Portland cement of the same grade, it can release 70-80% of the total heat of hydration in only one day. Due to several heat releases, it is suitable for concrete works with low temperature curing.
3. Strong resistance to sulfate erosion: the hydration process does not precipitate free calcium hydroxide but generates aluminum hydroxide gel, forming a protective film on the particle surface. The corrosion resistance is reduced during the later crystal transformation process.
4. Good high temperature resistance: high alumina cement can be used as a cementing material for heat-resistant concrete and configured into heat-resistant concrete.
